China and the U.S. may slug it out for leadership as equals

For more than a century we’ve got used to the idea of the U.S. as the leader of the global economy. But China’s burgeoning reputation for technological innovation and development means that could all be about to change. A study of worldwide technological competitiveness by the Georgia Institute of Technology has suggested that China may soon rival the U.S. as the principal driver of the world’s economy, knocking America off the perch it had held since the end of World War II.
